Back in the swing of it.

May 14th, 2008

Coming back from LA was a mixture of emotions. Sad to leave my friends there, happy to see my friends here. The gang here had some fun with my office, I came back to find everything covered in Princess stickers and pink bows. They even had one of those folding princess play castle setup where my chair would be. I am going to be peeling stickers off of everything for weeks.

I really enjoyed being back in LA, I miss it something terrible. I think after leaving home it was the place I was the happiest living, I hope to get back there someday for good. It just fits.

I let my membership to AIGA lapse. It was something my last employer bought for me and funny enough it’s the reason why I am working here at AOL now. After I got the membership I filled out the profile and Sally my first manager here at AOL found said profile there and well the rest is history.

I only went to one event the entire time I was involved with the organization, it was here in DC. It was basically just a pitch festival for print and paper companies, I think that is when I realized it really wasn’t my bag. I don’t really have anything against AIGA it’s just that when renewal time came around I wasn’t able to qualify the value of putting my dollar into it.

On the last day of my trip I became rather ill and it has taken a week to recover from the cold. I was laid up in bed a couple of days and that combined with leaving LA made me introspective and so I took as much of my work as I could find and basically archived it up on my site. It’s not everything but it’s a lot of it. If you are curious and want to check it out shoot me an email and I’ll send you the URL. I didn’t really want to make it part of the “Jasoncampbell.com” experience, heh, it’s sort of it’s own thing. Even though my poor four going on five year old portfolio is in dire need of attention. It looks so disjointed from the rest of the site.

Well there is an update, LA was awesome, Iron Man was great, seeing it at the new Arclight in Sherman Oaks was a treat, I didn’t get to see everyone but I was thrilled to see those I did and I miss you guys. Hope to see you again soon.

J.
