I had, a little while back, taken a look at a new identity for myself with a bright orange on a nice dark background. I was going to lean in that direction for the main page but while in the process of fleshing that out Jason Santa Maria launched his new design and the more I worked on mine the more I felt I was a little too inspired. So a bit back to the drawing board I went, I kept the idea of moving my twitter and flickr feed to a more prominent position on the site given that I am more likely to update those especially since the release of the iPhone 2.0 software with the app store from which I procured new twitter and flickr apps. I made some shifts in the colors leaning toward the old design rather that the more red orange on black that I had going on the examples page. That along with a bit of a layout shift and this is where I landed.

So today I did pretty much nothing but code out the template pages for my WordPress install with this new design. It will probably be a couple of days before I can transition and flush out the pages outside those templates to this new look but I wanted to get this up as I was tiring of the old design.

I believe I got a little bit punch drunk late last night when I came up with the section titles, but if nothing else it makes me giggle and if I can’t get some enjoyment out of my own site then what is the point. All in all I am happy with where the site has ended up for this launch, would love any feedback.
