Going to Microsoft
November 5th, 2008
They say may you live interesting times. I can say with all honesty that these are in fact interesting times. Two years of Presidential campaigning culminating in history for Barack Obama and after almost two years for me at AOL I am saying my farewells. It has been a wonderful experience to have been a part of the commerce team, I have made some wonderful friends, learned, grown, and enjoyed my time here at AOL but a time for change has indeed come.
I have been offered a position with Microsoft as a User Experience Evangelist based in Los Angeles. I will be Microsoft’s representative to the designer/agency community in the South West. I am thrilled at this tremendous opportunity to be more involved in the community, to work with some relatively new technology in Silverlight as it is starting to really make it’s mark, creating compelling experiences and opening up new avenues for rich media and application development for the web.
I am sad to be saying farewell to my friends here in Dulles yet excited at being back with old friends in Los Angeles and making new friends both within Microsoft and my new team as well as each and everyone of you in the community. I hope to be sharing much more in the near future.

Thanks my friend. I am excited to be headed back, I hear that the improv has gone way downhill since I took the act east.
